Entrepreneur21.net’s board of directors guides the direction of the organization in attaining its mission and vision. Entrepreneur21.net prides itself on having a diverse board that brings experience from the fields of Finance, Education, Information Technology, and Healthcare from an entrepreneurial perspective. The board is supported by volunteer executive council (EXCO) members and advisors who represent many industries, business sectors, and government agencies.

Dr. Shaan Kumar is the Chairman of iGLOBAL Investment Group, an international angel investment and technology incubation house. In 2007, he was elected the chairman of United States Global Entrepreneurs Association (USGEA) to promote and nurture entrepreneurs globally. He provides long-term vision, leadership, and guidance to the board and executive council to implement USGEA’s global strategy and is responsible for the successful implementation of its business plan. Dr. Kumar is also the founder and chief executive officer of California International University, a nationally accredited university offering bachelors, masters, and doctoral degree programs.

Brian Lee is the Director of Education at ATI’s Career Center in Waco, Texas and has thirteen years of experience in the fields of information technology, business and academia including non-profit, for profit and government enterprises. He has been involved in managing institutions delivering e-learning, curriculum development, compliance, international operations, and traditional educational activities for the past ten years and was most recently the Vice President of Business Operations for the California InterContinental University. He is a founding board member of the United States Global Entrepreneurship Association (USGEA), a regular contributor to its Entrepreneur21 magazine, and has been responsible for startup operations of educational institutions in the United States and India.

Douglas Perez began his entrepreneur activities in 1983. Creating the very first high school video year book and selling it to his classmates. From there he went on to college and completed the first of his degrees in Psychology from Cal State Northridge. For the next decade he excelled in sales getting in top marks in real estate sales and real estate management. Douglas worked as Vice President of Sales for Windsor Productions, the world’s largest health-care production company. In 2003 he earned a master degree in education and is pursuing a second master’s degree in humanities and literature. Currently Douglas resides in Riverside California where is college professor and works on various entrepreneur projects. Douglas married in 2001 to a special education teacher-Elizabeth-and has two adopted children Hannah and Gabrielle. Douglas summers in Vermont and enjoys traveling along the New England coast line.

Chakravarthy is the Founder and Managing Director of Mercury Investment Group headquartered in California. As an angel investment corporation, MIG provides special purpose incubation and angel investment support to start up schools and financial Institutions. Mercury Investment Group is an investment house with offices in California, Singapore and Chennai, India. The group manages $ 5Million funds established for supporting and nurturing private education. Founded in 2001 by Mr. Chakravarthy, the Group seeks to create long term value for our investors by investing in and building a stable of educational institutions of great value and standard focused primarily on the Asia Pacific market.

Edmund Tan is a founder and director at UbiquityWorks, a professional services firm with expertise in a number of areas including Strategic Consulting, GreenTech, and People. He has over 20 years of international management consulting experience and was in top-tier firms such as the HayGroup and Towers Perrin (now Towers Watson) where he was a senior consultant operating in the Asia/Middle-East region. A short example of his clients includes IBM, HP, The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority, LG and Neptune Orient Lines. Edmund is active in the entrepreneurship investment and mentoring community, having made a number of investments in startups over the years. He is also active as a mentor with the Singapore Management University entrepreneurship programmes.

Edmund graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Economics and Mathematics. He is married with three children.
