How to Find the Right Product Source

Starting a new product line or starting up a new e-commerce site is an exciting idea. Many entrepreneurs have great ideas on how to project the product and how to sell it better than the others. The first step for this would be to source the product. Finding good product source is a key factor, since it will determine the credibility of the business.

Trade shows and events are great places to find product sources. These are good places to know and meet a whole lot of suppliers from various geographical locations. These trade shows are also great opportunities to network and make more contacts.

Trade magazines are another great source for products. Once the initial research of the product is done, trade magazines pertaining to that industry will give a whole list of suppliers with contact details. While most of the suppliers would be authentic, it is better to do a credibility check on them.

Getting to know local suppliers in and around the business locale is also a good option. It is always better to start small, for example a local vendor near the business location who can be trusted. Similarly since the entrepreneur is from the same area the supplier would also be aware of the business. Mutual trust is a great way to start business.

Whatever the sources are it is important to have customer references from all the suppliers to gauge credibility because Customer satisfaction depends on product quality.
