How to identify and satisfy customers’ needs.

Background:

Customer satisfaction is the feeling of pleasure that occurs when a firm
meets a customer’s expectations. There is a relationship between customer value
and customer satisfaction. In order to deliver value to customer, a firm must
know what customers value about its product. One way to find out is to ask
them.  Once a firm is aware of the needs
of its customers it will be easier to deliver this value in order to satisfy
them.

Clearly, to be successful, and maximize their profits, firms must build
connection with their customers. Building connection includes knowing customers
and satisfying their needs.  A firm that succeeds on meeting and exceeding
customers’ expectations is guaranteed to have great return on its investment.

What are the customer’s needs? Can a firm satisfy every need of each
customer? I will focus on the customers basics needs that a firm must satisfy
and how

Steps to satisfy customers’ needs
are:

  1. Define customer
  2. Identify customers greatest needs
  3. Provide product and service quality for each experience
  4. Measure customers satisfaction in order to improve

Important Points

It is very important to keep in mind that you don’t
have to satisfy all your customers’ needs. In fact trying to satisfy every need
of your customer will result in a loss of profits for the company. What is
needed here is identify and satisfy customer’s greatest needs.

Summary:

According to Albrecht&
Bradford (1990) knowing customer is the basis thing for a business to succeed. A customer is the most important person in any business; without customers
firms would have to close doors. Most companies fail within a year or two
because of failure to understand and satisfy customers’ needs. A customer
deserves the most courteous attention a firm can give and need to feel
important and valued.
