Paul McIntosh – Vice President of Anexa Direct

Paul McIntosh is VP of Foreign Operations for Anexa Direct as well as the Director of Telemarketing Services for the Direct Response Academy. He also has approximately 150 employees in Mexico, working out of his call centers there.

As someone who’s been involved in DR for over 15 years, McIntosh’s experience is varied but also carries depth. His experience includes work as an account manager, and he cites NatWest, Nextel and Iceland Health as previous employers. As his experience grew, he became a trainer for his brand – passing on his wisdom to others within the company – as well as a manager of vendors’ call centers.

It’s in this role that McIntosh’s experience and aptitude in training became evident; the training processes he put in place meant that his customers experienced between 3-10% conversion differences. Now, he’s put those same processes in place in his own Hispanic call center in Mexico.

“When trying to get over obstacles, I typically have to understand that obstacle.”

He became involved with the Direct Response Academy while at impulse, and admits that “prior to that, my viewpoint in the DR business was strictly what my call center was doing.” The DR Academy enabled him to gain a nuanced, 360-degree perspective on his industry which he was able to use, later, when consulting for his own clients. Now, instead of confining his image of his campaign to one call center, McIntosh teaches his clients how to understand how their campaign appears to the outside world.

When discussing the challenges he’s faced in order to provide value to his clients, he says he approaches obstacles by breaking down problems to their basic components, figuring out where the problem is, then solving the core issue before working to put the entire problem back together – hopefully finding it fixed!
