Social Responsibility of a CEO

The traditional role of a CEO is to increase the profits of the company. In recent times, concern for the environment has grabbed the attention of companies. Since many companies thrive on pulling resources from the environment, CEOs have decided that it is time to acknowledge the same.
Today's companies focus on a sustainable environment. There are green buildings and more rules on energy conservation. A CEO's corporate social responsibility includes lots of activities that respect the energy and environment markets.

The activities include -

  • Bio-energy
  • Energy savings
  • Energy management
  • De-oxidizing harmful emissions
  • Reducing particle pollution

For most CEOs, corporate social responsibility has brought about a change in the functions of businesses. It has become an integral part of the company's activities. Priorities of companies have changed, keeping in mind the sustainability of energy in various processes.   Business operations have merged corporate social responsibility into their procedures. Special planning is done to ensure the conservation of energy. For most product oriented companies, environmental issues have been etched in the usage of their products.
